
D&M Music Studio invites piano students and interested persons to "The 2nd Bangkok Piano Pedagogy Symposium & Recitals 2010", which will take place at Goethe Institute Bangkok, Sahon Tai Road, from May 24-26, daily 9:30am-4:30pm.
This is a chance to learn from piano professors and experts, including Dr May Phang from De Paul University, Indiana; Dr Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu from Bowling Green State University, Ohio; Dr Narongrit Dhammabutr from Chulalongkorn University, and Paul Barton from Silom Village Performing Art School, Bangkok.
Topics to be delivered during the event include "How to improve your piano practice" by Paul Barton, "Twentieth century and contemporary piano music" by Dr Narongrit Dhammabutr, "Great piano works by American composers in the late 19th century and early 20th century" and "A discussion on the evolution of Beethoven's compositional style through examining his piano sonatas" by Dr Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu, and "Piano transportation" and "Reading between the lines" by Dr May Phang.
The registration fee is 3,500 baht for the full package or 1,500 baht per day. Those who register for the full three days will receive three complimentary tickets to attend each evening recital, while those who register on a day-by-day basis will receive a complimentary ticket to attend one recital.
The performance schedule is May Phang piano recital on May 24, Eri Nakagawa piano recital on May 25, trumpet and piano duo recital by Charles Saenz and Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu on May 29 and Artas and Indhuon Balakauscas duo piano recital on June 1 - all starting at 7:30pm.
